Jenifer Jimison

Hello! I'd love to take a moment to introduce myself and offer you a glimpse into my background and experience. Hopefully, this can assist you in considering me for your therapy journey.

I graduated from UKY with my Masters of Social Work in 2016. I had the privilege of working as a hospital social worker. I learned how medical and environmental factors contribute to ones mental health and the challenges faced when beginning the path of healing.

In 2018, I moved from Huntington, WV to Louisville, KY. I earned the opportunity to work for Hosparus Health. For 3 years, I meaningfully walked with individuals on their end-of-life journeys. Along with my owned lived experience of loss, this time provided insight, empathy, and experience in death, life, and the grieving process.

In 2021, I moved to group practice. During this time, I was given the freedom to explore my interests. Because of my life experiences and my passion to support others, I chose to advance my understanding and skills with trauma work across the lifespan.

With a focus on children and parent relationships, I have training based in Theraplay principles, Filial Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Polyvagal, Sand Therapy, and integrating EMDR with Child Centered Play Therapy.

With teenagers and adults, my focus has lended towards CBT, Mindfulness, Parts Work/ Ego States, and EMDR.

Presently, I am in private practice. I am EMDR Certified and a Registered Play Therapist. I look forward to meeting you.
